Portable Power Station
Q: What is a portable power station?
A: Portable power station is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Easily recharged by solar panel, AC outlet, and car charging. Features AC/DC/USB charging ports, they can keep all your devices charged, from smartphones, tablets, laptops, to CPAP and small appliances, like a fan, heater, electric blankets, etc.
Q: How does a portable power station work?
A: It boosts the DC voltage by the DC to AC inverter system. After fully charged by solar panel, car charger or AC outlet, you could connect it to your small and medium devices from AC/DC/USB, and it would change the power to alternating current before sending it out to power a device, like your laptop and TV.
Q: What are the benefits of a portable power station?
A: As a battery-powered generator, it can not only work without noise, fume, and pollution when compared with a gas-powered generator but also could be recharged by compatible solar panels, which could harness the renewable and economical sun anywhere you go.
Q: How should I deal with my battery pack before it is stored for a longer time?
A: The battery level of the portable power station will drain gradually with time goes. So it's strongly recommended to make it fully charged before you don't use it for over 3 months.
Q: Why the Rockpals portable power station is also called solar generator?
A: Rockpals portable power station can store the energy absorbed from the solar panel, that's why we also call it a solar generator.
Q: Can I take Rockpals portable power station on a flight?
A: Sorry, you can't. Under FAA regulations, you are not allowed to take any battery exceeding 100Wh on a plane.
Q: What's the difference between pure sine wave and modified sine wave?
A: Modified sine wave inverters are very affordable. Using a more basic form of technology than pure sine wave inverters, they produce power which is perfectly adequate for powering simple electronics, like your laptop. Modified inverters are best suited for resistive loads that don't have a start upsurge.
Pure sine wave inverters use more sophisticated technology to protect even the most sensitive electronics. Pure sine wave inverters produce power which equals – or is better than – the power in your home. Appliances which may not function properly, or which may be permanently damaged, without pure, smooth power will be safe with pure sine inverters

Q: Do all the Rockpals portable power stations come with pure sine wave inverter?
A: Yes, all the Rockpals power stations are pure sine wave.
Q: How to know if the Rockpals portable power stations can charge my device and How long can it use for my device?
A: First, please make sure that the operating power of your device isn't over the AC output power of Rockpals. If it is, it can be supported by Rockpals.
Then, you can calculate the charging time by the formula: Working time = Rockpals portable power station * WH * 0.85 / operating power of your device. For example, assuming the power of your device is 50W, and you'd get Rockpals 500W to run your device. The working time will be 540WH*0.85/50w=9 hrs (roughly calculated). Please note the actual working time varies from different usages, consult Rockpals for the better purchase decision.
Q: Does my Rockpals portable power station support pass-through charging?
A: No, only the DC and USB ports of Rockpals Rockpower series power stations support pass-through charging while AC does not support.
Q: How can I be notified if you offer a discount or sale?
A: You can sign up for our newsletter in the footer.
Q: Will Rockpals 100W foldable solar panel pull the electric in RV, trailer?
A: If other brand solar panels charge Rockpals portable power stations, a solar controller isn't needed, since it's included in our power station. However, if Rockpals foldable solar panels give power for batteries of some cars, the solar controller is needed for their batteries are not protected.
Q: I am wondering if you can advise me on which one of your products are capable of running a Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP machine? Ideally 6-8 hours a night while camping?
A: S10 DC Converter. Rated power of ventilator is 96W (take Resmed Airsense S9 as an example). Under the condition of no heat and atomization, the pressure of 4th gearis 13W, the pressure of 5th gear is 30W and the pressure of 6th gear is 45W; the default is 4th gear. Use cigarette lighter output, it can be used for 280WH*0.96 / 13W = 20.7 hours (15 - 20 hours without heating and atomization).
Our S10 DC Converter works for Resmed Airsense S10 to last the working time.
So customers are advised to purchase Rockpals 300W Power Station & S10 DC converter.
Q: Your 300W unit has a 24V port so I'm not sure why I need a separate DC-DC converter. Please advise or send your CPAP guide.
A: 1. The maximum power received by the DC24 port is 72W, so it can't be used for the Resmed Airsense S9/ S10 CPAP over 90W. 2. The CPAP needs DC converter to plug in the DC12V cigarette lighter port to boost the voltage from 12V to 24V and then work for your CPAP.
Foldable Solar Panel
Q: If my USB device is 1A input, will the 2A output of this charger damage it?
A: No, this charger has intelligent charging which detects your device and supply exactly current it needs. If your phone only accepts 1A, the charger will deliver 1A.
Q: What if the foldable solar panel isn't charging my devices?
A: 1. Check if the input voltage of your device is 5V or 18V.
2.If it's a cloudy day or indirect from sunshine, there may be current fluctuation which in turn, may block charging. So please put this solar panel in the sun directly or wait for the sunny day.
3. Please wipe the panel with a damp cloth before use to avoid scratching.
4.Stay away from fire, water and chemical liquid.
Q: If it's partially cloudy or dark, will the charger still work?
A: Yes, but the charging efficiency will be low causing prolonged charging time.
Q: Will this solar panel charge my laptop?
A: Yes, but please make sure that the power of your device is 12-18V.
